In the days leading up to Mother's Day and Father's Day, many customers are looking for (inspiration for) a suitable gift for their mother or father. Use a dashboard to gain insight into the current demand for certain brands and products. Both at your own organization and at your competitors. So that you can take into account the purchases, margins and conversion percentages. Provide visibility at every stage of the customer journey

Mother's Day is May 9th , but the search volume in Google for the term 'Mother's Day' has been increasing significantly since the second week of March. Although there is plenty of search for 'Mother's Day' in Google, the purchase intention is still quite low. 

The purchase intent increases when searching for “Mother's Day Gift”. You can see that the search volume on this keyword combination increases as the holiday approaches. Consumers start their search with generic inspiration and then look more purchase-oriented.   

In the period prior to  Mother 's Day, set up a separate campaign in which you use search terms related to  Mother's Day . Advertise generically on '  Mother 's Day gifts' to reach an orienting audience, or choose keywords that are more specific than '  Mother 's Day gifts' if you want to reach a specific target group. In addition, use display or video advertising to show your offer for Mother 's Day in relevant places on the web  . Create sitelinks and promotion  extensions  in which you communicate the promotion .

Create a landing page

Create a separate landing page for Mother's Day and Father's Day. Keep the following in mind: 

  • Capture branded  traffic with .nl/ mother's day / or .nl/ father's day /
  • Don't use years, so this URL is timeless and can be used anytime. This way they build up link value and are found more easily. 
  • Always keep the URL online.
  • Don't create too many pages so you can limit your link value to a single page. 
  • Make sure your page is findable.  

Make  sure  your (landing page) is found: 

  • Add Mother's Day and/or Father's Day to  page titles . 
  • Optionally, add two lines of text about Mother's Day or Father's Day at the bottom of your page. 

In addition, ensure good visibility and findability of your Mother's Day and Father's Day products in your webshop. Show them on your homepage and use categories and filters .
